Bowling Green State University

Founded in 1910, Bowling Green State University is a 1,247-acre campus located in Bowling Green, Ohio, 23 miles south of Toledo.

BGSU offers its 20,000+ students educational experiences in more than 200 undergraduate majors and programs and some 325 student organizations. It has seven undergraduate colleges including Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education and Human Development, Health and Human Services, Musical Arts, Technology and the regional BGSU Firelands campus in Huron, Ohio. There are also programs in Army and Air Force ROTC.

The university recently completed a $50 million infrastructure project that integrated the latest technological learning and teaching resources on campus. Each residence hall has its own computer lab and all rooms are wired for high-speed connection to the university’s computing network. There are also 30 instructional computing labs located across campus.

A member of the Mid-American Conference and the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, BGSU offers its students competition in 17 varsity sports. Men’s sports include baseball, basketball, football, hockey, cross country, golf and soccer. While women’s sports include basketball, softball, cross country, golf, gymnastics, soccer, swimming, tennis, track and field and volleyball.

Because the university’s location is close to downtown Bowling Green, students are within walking or biking distance of most of the city’s restaurants and businesses, making the connection between city and university close.
